About
While our next steps should focus on strengthening our churches and local communities, we can also serve our Chrysalis community by volunteering our time and energy. The easiest way to do this is to show up and support the community at Send-Offs, Candlelights, and Closings.
In addition to supporting Chrysalis with your presence at these events, there are servant teams that you can be a part of. If you wish to serve in this manner, the first places for you to look is to 4thday Teams. 4thday Teams are responsible for setup and takedown and supporting the Background Team during the weekend. Priority for serving on a Background or Conference Room Team, is given to those that have served on a 4thday Team.
Following 4thday team service there are Background and Conference Room Teams. These teams are present at the church the entire weekend and help maintain and support the cloistered environment for the caterpillars. NEVER ask a Lay Director, 4thday Team Leader, or Board Member to put you on a team. Team selection is done through prayerful consideration, of those that have supported the community through service and attendance at events.
There are additional roles to serve in and they include music and kitchen teams. These teams are essential to the weekend and it is a great way to give a gift of agape. Fill out a volunteer form and mark all the areas of service you would like to be involved in. Of course, the best way to serve the community is by being a good sponsor If you are sponsoring someone and are asked to serve on a team, or vice versa, you need to get a cosponsor. You can not devote your full attention to being a good sponsor if you are busy with team service. Get help, because sponsorship is the most important area of service.
